On the 29th and 30th of October, the Annual Conference of the German chapter of the International Association for Landscape Ecology (IALE-D) took place at the Hochschule Anhalt - University of Applied Sciences in Bernburg. The overarching topic of this year's gathering was "Resilience vs. transformation in urban and rural areas - what can landscape ecology contribute?"
Our colleague Stephanie Roilo participated in the event, during which she was also awarded the IALE-D Graduate Award, which is conferred to the best doctoral thesis in the field of Landscape Ecology for her thesis titled: "Modelling impacts of agricultural practices on biodiversity in Europe". Stephanie was also given the opportunity to present the most salient results of her doctoral work in a plenary session to the IALE-D members. Click here for Stephanie's thesis.
