Liuyang Chu1, a Crop Functional Genomics PhD candidate in the boron deficiency group2, gave a talk at the development and cell biology meeting prior to the maize meeting on March 6, 2025 and presented her poster both with the title "Effects of phenylboronic acid on maize root development: Boron-related but rhamnogalacturonan Ⅱ-independent?".

Yaping Zhou3, a Crop Functional Genomics researcher in the abiotic stress response group4, gave a talk at the development and cell biology meeting prior to the maize meeting on March 6, 2025  and presented her poster both with the title "A spatiotemporal transcriptional map of maize lateral root formation".

Marion Pitz5, a Crop Functional Genomics PhD candidate in the heterosis group6, presented her data on the topic "Regulation of heterosis-associated gene expression complementation in maize hybrids".

Xuelian Du7, a Crop Functional Genomics PhD candidate in the BonnMu group8, presented her poster in a lightening talk on the topic "BonnMu: A resource for Functional Genomics in Mazie (Zea mays L.)". She also presented a second poster with the title "Functional characterization of the dizzy1 (diz1) dwarf maize mutant from the BonnMu resource".
