Li Guo and Alina Klaus joined over 170 barley researchers and plant breeders in a five days symposium with scientific talks, workshops, entertainment and Latvian hospitality.

After four days of scientific discourse, the last day was dedicated to visiting the barley demo field with contributions from over 15 participants highlighting the genetic diversity found in barley. In the evening all participants gathered in the castle of Cēsis to close the successful event with a medieval feast including food, drinks, music and dance. Alina Klaus was awarded a prize for giving one of the best short presentations in the Flash & Dash session.
