The Root Functional Biology group led by Dr. Peng Yu is seeking a highly motivated and hard-working scientist to work on the genetic and molecular mechanisms of crop-microbe interaction.

What we do:

  • Root morphogenesis, development and architecture;
  • Genomics, transcriptomics, metabolomics of maize roots;
  • Metagenomics of root/soil microbes;
  • Molecular biology and microbiology.

What we offer:

  • Contract: 3 years (TVL E13, 65%);
  • Extensive national and international collaborative network;
    Support by technician and team members;
  • Full supervision by group leader.

What we require:

  • High interest and enthusiasm in scientific research;
  • Master in Biology/Genetics/Plant science/Microbiology;
  • Communication skills in English and willingness to work hard are essential;
  • Being organized, critical thinking, willing to learn and improve;
  • Experience in plant-microbe interaction highly welcome;
  • R/python programming is expected, but not essential.
